Just started using this program after writing an Uberhood update and realising I couldn't remember the name of a sim's crush. It's very handy. Could I make just one small suggestion though? With the physical traits tab, I notice there's no option for custom skintones, eyes or hair, and I wondered if you would be able to include that in a future version at all?

sushigal: it already possible to so that. Go to Tools > Options >Sim Options > Traits and you can add any custom content you want as well as alter the existing ones. In my neighborhood for my ToT challenge I'm using a special default replacement skin that gives them different colors of skin instead of the normal ones and I altered the "light, medium, tan, and dark" values to reflect the colors I'm using.

Hi Reba - hope you are well and not too busy (know what that's like).
I've noticed an issue with the Tracker in that I started to enter my custom careers in the options panel. I loaded my cleaner career alright and saved it. I then started on a second career (Prison Warder) and found that the details of the prison warder overwrote the details in the cleaner career. I tried with a third career - same result. It would seem that the Tracker only records one custom career at a time and gives the details as being the same for every custom career you put in the list. I just reinstalled the Tracker and came over to the thread to get the latest version last week.

Is there any chance that you could make this for the sims 3/walk me through how to do it? I would LOVE to have something like this for the sims 3, but I can't find anything like it.

A major problem with my computer made me lose everything, so I have to start over. This will let me do a better verion. As for TS3, if I ever get TS3, then I will make one for it too.
Right now I am learning to make Windows 8 apps, so don't be surprised to see a Win8 version as well.

One major change I have made is that the SimTracker will now keep each Hood, and Hubhood's seasons seperate, so they can be done correctly.

Reba, a suggestion for future versions. Can you make it possible to link siblings together without having the same parents? For instance if creating a pair of siblings in CAS that have no parents in game, being able to set them as siblings in the tracker without making up a parent so that they will appear as family to one another (and to one another's family later on down the line) I figure it can't be too difficult, as I'm pretty sure it would run the same type of code as setting spouses and children. Thanks! ~VP

I second Violet's suggestion. Being able to link siblings would be a great help. I'm only playing premades right now, but there are certain ones who are supposed to be siblings and have no parents at all.
I am definitely liking the look of the new version so far though. :D
ETA: Oh yeah, and some way to list adopted children or alien pregnancies, anything where there's only one parent, regardless of whether the parent had been married before. Like in the case of Armand and Tara Debateau. She was adopted after Armand had already divorced Jessica. The tracker lists Jessica as one of her parents though, suggesting a relationship that just isn't there. Or, better yet, maybe a way to set no parents at all or biological parents? Meh, chances are what I'm asking for is already available and I just haven't figured it out yet.

Adoption, and alien pregnancies are already supported, but this will be improved in the new version.
Sim Tracker 2 will support adding siblings. One of the good things about starting over is I can make a lot of improvements.
One new feature I am adding is a random name generator
Lilana, in the new version you will be able to set one, or no parents.
When you use the "Add New Child" button it will now ask if the new child needs to be added to the current spouse or someone else (or no one).
The parent you are using to create the child (if from the parents page) will now be reported as parent 1.
So if you want the Mother to be Parent 1, then the new child will need to be added through the mothers page, or added from the main sim list, and then you can set the parents on the childs parent page.
Please keep the suggestions comming. Since I am doing a new version, this is the best time to let me know what changes you would like to see.
Plus the more responses here, the more I know folks are interested.

I need some information that is not on the Sims Wiki, I need to know what the skill levels and hours are for each college semester for all of the majors. If any has this information, please share it with me.

As you may recall, some controls were disabled due to a sims age, this functionality will now be able to be disabled in the options section.

You'll find them on SnootySims, HERE !
I'm such a huge fan of your program, I use it every time I play. Really looking forward to see the new version!
EDIT:// Is it possible to bring the information of saved neighborhoods from the old version to the new one easier than manually starting from scratch? If that's possible to add to the new version, that would be so helpful!

I'm so glad that I decided to look and see if anything has been going on with SimTracker. I have done extensive researching to find all the information about the college semesters for all majors. I still have a little gap with History and Lit majors, but I should be getting it soon. In any case, here you go.

I have another question: Will the new version have the option of showing sim-days assosiated with different events? That is, there could be a box for adding sim-day values in addition to the real-time calendar. For example, sim A and B got married on day 23 or sim C was born on day 15.

Well, with the current program, you can write in custom dates. I have been using it to say that Sim was married in the Winter with 4 days left in the 2rd year, or 3/4/2, for my custom dates. You can do a similar thing for yourself however you want to do it.

EDIT:// Is it possible to bring the information of saved neighborhoods from the old version to the new one easier than manually starting from scratch? If that's possible to add to the new version, that would be so helpful! |
I'm glad you liked the old version, and I am sure you will love the new one (I do)
Because I lost a lot of my original coding I may not be able to do a transfer program, but I am going to try.

As was already stated by icemandeaf the old ersion will already let you do that. The new version will improve on this function a great deal.
You will be able to select dates by house day so sim age, with out a lot of typing.
Iceman, thank you for this, it will save me a great deal of time. I might be able to have the new vesrion done several months sooner.
I still need to get correct information on all of the Careers as well, but that will not be as hard.
Also the new version of the program will let you edit major, and career information right from the main page, no more need to go into the options section.
Almost forgot, adding new careers and majors will be a lot easier as I am doing a wizard for that

I am so stoked!!!! I can't wait because I know that each time you come out with something new, it just makes things that much easier.
I can understand if you can't get it to transfer over because of lost information. I have 1060 sims and 90 households full of various data, so it would just mean that I would have to enter all that information slowly as I go through a rotation. (Takes me about a year for a full rotation. HA!) But if you can even do something, it would be great! No pressure, though.
