Very nice... but my knowledge of the Japanese version is lamentably lacking - is this the same character as "Malachite" in the English dub?

Yeah, in the US version, he is called Malachite.

His proper name is Japan is Kunzite, though (pronounced koon-zite, if I recall).

All four of the "Kings" or Generals (in the US) are named after jewel formations.

Very good work on this sim!

Thanks for that dunner I really need to get hold of the Japanese versions, I've been told that they're rather different to the US dubbed version...

The Japanese versions are MUCH better, and they're more "adult" centered around a 14-18 year old type level, instead of the US version, which is geared more towards little kiddies.

You'd really be surprised on how much of the show was censored when DiC had ahold of it for the first two seasons!

ok.. u made all this stuff... and i dont even remember this person in the american version! some one explain.. i watched sailor moon every day on cartoon network till it was cancelled, could you please exsplain.. cuz im confused

In Japan, the full title of the anime is called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, or literally, Beautiful Girl Soldier Sailor Moon.

In the first season, the enemies were the forces of the Dark Kingdom, led by Queen Metallia and Queen Beryl. The four kings are Jadeite, Nephrite, Zoicite and Kunzite.

In the US, the evil team is from the "Negaverse". Metallia's name is changed to the NegaForce. Beryl's name was left the same, but the kings are referred to as Generals. They are also renamed Jedite, Nephylte, Zoisite and Malachite.

Since this was all during the first season, I'm guessing that you didn't see any of the series until season 2 or later. Each show had a different name. Sailor Moon R (season 2), Sailor Moon S (season 3), Sailor Moon SuperS (season 4) and Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars (season 5, in Japan only).
