I really like these pics but not as defaults. How do I use them as custom paintings only? I know it's not just a matter of renaming files. Actually, I probably just need the website of where you got these images. Will you be kind enough to point me to the right direction?

Thanks for sharing.

I realize this replaces the default random pictures that the sims paint but I found it easier to get around the ugly paintings by doing this: When creativity is high enough, an option appears to paint "custom" paintings and I've just been replacing the jpeg pictures in the "paintings" file folder with whatever I want my sims to paint and it seems to work fine so long as they are close to the dimensions....
A little easier than messing around with SimPE as it's all gobbleygook to me Also I have been putting as many or as few pictures in the "paintings" folder as I want, there appears to be no limit of 12 ..... I put the jpeg files here:
Documents>Ea Games>Sims2>Paintings

I used about half of these to replace my paintings ... I think that Maxis clown picture is the most hideous of the bunch, and I really like the paintings here replacing them. And how could I resist the Van Gogh? These are truly lovely in-game. Thanks!

Thank you Shoukeir...these are so like what I would create since I'm planning to go to art school. I hated the Maxis paintings, especially the first one they ever paint. The demented looking lady that looks like a two year old painted it.

I'm not crazy...I'm "mentally happy"...

Very pretty stuff! And I disagree with Zgg3. If a two year old had painted that pink mon strosity it would look better.

No more pink ladies. Thank gods. Also thank you!

Beautiful! Just one question - will these replace the pictures that have already been painted by Sims in-game?

Thanks so much!

Thank you! A level 10 creativity should paint THESE paintings! Not those random colours in the default. Heading to the second sets now. :)
