I got a couple requests a while back to make different, small terrains. There's 14 different terrains here. All 5 PNG's are included for each one. They are small, but some of them are really small. I placed the small highrise on each terrain for comparison. Some of you wanted a terrain that you can place larger lots on and I personally wanted some really small terrains that are appropiate for the 1x lots.
I'm updating this post some with a couple new screenshots. I have enjoyed having these small terrains and I think alot of you have too. The point of these terrains is that they are really small and very playable. The challenge and creativity here is that, despite looking way to simple, they were a complete pain to create because the tools in SC4 are only so small. That makes it really, really hard to edit the terrain such as mountains, smooth edges and still being low set in the water.
They work out really well for having different climate subhoods in Seasons, just as I had hoped. I can visit my always summer, remote islands where there's only a beach and pool, anytime, no matter what season my sim is currently in, or visit the snowy mountains. I have also enjoyed using Sunset Island for my own completely custom college campus. Now I hope they will work for vacation destinations in the next EP, we'll see. Paradise Island has grown to be my fav terrain.
Below are some specifics about each terrain. You can skip that section unless you need to know which lot sizes will fit on which terrain.
Please extract all files to My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\SC4Terrains . I have no future plans to make any more SC4 terrains. It's a pain and I have all I'll ever need. Feedback is welcome. Enjoy!
Calhoun Island:
up to 3x2 inside, up to 4x4 on outside
Coral Island:
Single island taken from Emerald isles
3x3 center, up to 3x3
Ellis Island:
3x5 center, 3x3 center, 1x3 & 1x5 centers, up to 3x3 on outside
Emerald Isles:
3x3 center, 1x1 & 2x1 on all islands, 1x2, 1x3, 2x2 & 2x3 on 4 islands, 3x1 on 3 islands, 3x2, 3x3 & 5x2 on 2 islands, 2x4 on 1 island, only 1x1 & 2x1 fit on the smallest island
Enchanted Isles:
1x1, 2x1, 1x2, 2x2,each island, 2x3 & 1x3 on 2 islands, 3x1 will not fit
Golden Bay Island:
4- 3x3 centers, 2- 3x1 centers, up to 5x3 on outside
Grace Island:
3x3 centers, up to 5x4
Juno Island:
all lot sizes, 20 long
Kiwi Island:
3x3 center, up to 5x3 & 3x5
Northern Isles:
1x1, 1x2, 2x1 each island, 1 place for 2x2, 3x1 will not fit
Paradise Island:
5x3 center
South Bay Island:
up to 5x2
Sunset Island:
3x3 center, up to 4x3
Whitley Island:
up to 5x3
