UPDATE : added a plain version without glass

Who would have thought a simple Maxis add-on would turn to be such a challenge to make? Not me, surely. But I am now proud to present the OakTowne Double Interior Pocket Door.

Ramble

The OakTowne door always came to me as Queen Anne in style, with its carving details. I use it regularly for my older buildings, but it lacked versatility. And I have wanted double pocket doors for a long time. This type of sliding doors are actually period appropriate, very much used in Victorian and later houses.

Specifications

Catalog location : Build Mode \ Windows and Doors \ Doors
Price : 500§
Repository to the OakTowne Simple Interior Door
Custom handles and railing details, added glass panels
Recolourable subsets : wood and hardware
Works on diagonal walls
Polygon count : 480

Animation

Slides outward into the adjacent walls, like actual pocket doors. Make sure to leave on tile of wall on each side, or the doors will stick out when open.

Only one side of the door will open at a time. If two sims walk through at the same time, the animation will ‘jump’ and the doors will open and close twice. The base game sliding door (from which it was cloned) also has this glitch.

Quite often, you may see sims cutting through the door a little while it slides. That is because the animation is slower than them.
