The food menu can be populated by a business owner from all loaded foods. The price can be set for each individual menu item. Prices can be set while the game is paused. Default prices are taken from food constant 'wholesale cost' with a multiplier to be similar to restaurant prices. This cost is charged to the business owner. As a result of this, the default foods cost less.

On owned business, a worker or owner's family member has to man the food court. A cooking skill of 4 points is needed. The assigned employee will be continuously pushed to work if they are idle and in good mood. While working, the cook will ignore random commands by an autonomous manager to reassign, and will return to work if reassigned during a break. Change the assignment on the stove if you want the chef to stop working. Statistics about earnings are available on a business.

People can buy food on owned business without browsing first. They are motivated by hunger inversely proportional to the price, and access is somewhat limited by hunger. This avoids wasting time at the object, krowding it with route failure and getting fat.

Business owners and employees can buy food to recharge themselves and don't pay for it. Only members of the current family ever pay.

A person can work as a chef for money on a commlot similarly to working as barista or bartender. While working and idle, the person can do a few short interactions: talk on the phone, react to the weather or belching, check sims out or eat. While idle, the chef will try to regain comfort by sitting, social by chatting if he is outgoing enough and hunger by making her own food. The chef enters the court through the side walls and not through the stove.

A customer chooses the closest chair, preferring unoccupied counters. People waiting for an order will do a conversation. Their food dish is protected from being stolen while they do that. Waiting patrons are processed in the order they came. There is not a window of time while getting seated when the chef can pick a random food.

Flame and steam effects and the bubbling sound are turned on when a worker enters or begins to cook. Covered and uncovered pots have the correct steam. Cooking utensils, plates and any barstools don't have snow cover. The ground inside the court doesn't have deep snow.

The food menu of each food court is preserved in neighborhood memory even if the commlot is not saved. Invalid foods will get removed from the list.

Untouched food can be left on the counter for another person to eat. The chef will not wipe a counter with a food dish on it.

A patron will time out while waiting for food and impact customer loyalty. He will be charged when food is delivered, and will also pay if he has walked away but is still near the court. A customer can leave the queue while another order is being made without paying.

A chair for the chef or a counter can be placed on the free tiles in the mountains or tropical stand. Once placed, it is disabled from being used by bystanders.

The chef NPC will move with the food court if it is relocated in build mode instead of being deleted.

Teens can be chef as worker or NPC with the correct animations.

Debug mode cheat actions allow to spawn random food from the menu on the counter (was ramen), set the food menu on any lot, enable or disable the NPC on any lot, enable or disable work outfit switch, remove saved food menu for the current lot, and set familiar NPCs.

To configure the food menu on a community lot, shift-click in debug mode to enable the cheat, set the menu items and correct prices, then untick the cheat again to only keep the buy menu.

A Local Chef can enter personglobals main to be invited as a visitor and change his clothes or for another reason that requires pushing interactions onto him. He is a normal NPC, but with a minimal interaction table.

The Gyro food has been renamed and no longer appears as Flapjacks.

The barstools are no longer free, and will be spawned only once.

The Hotdog stand works in FreeTime if extracted as a new object. It spawns the voyage chef and dresses into the Fast Food clerk clothes.

Flavor Pak - Food Stand No NPC Chat: Makes an NPC never do conversation in case people don't want to build relationship with NPCs who can't be targeted for socials.

Flavor Pak - Food Stand Clothes for Any Skin Color: Retain the NPC's existing skin and hair color when wearing work clothes and avoid mismatching face, eyebrows and portrait. Black hair could be justified for Takemizu, but not for the other locales. If the outfits were edited in a conflicting package with a higher priority, the game will crash.

Flavor Pak - Food Stand Satisfy Wants to Make Food: Consider cooked food made well for the purposes of wants & memory if the chef's skill meets the requirement. This will cause the chef to want to eat each cooked food.

Cloned food stands need adaptaiton to work.
NOT compatible with Castaways.
